For years, they probably thought no one would hear their cries but today, nearly 60 animals in Germany have finally escaped a living hell on earth.
When animal rescuers in Vlotho, Germany approached a hoarder’s home with animals known to be abused inside, they probably never expected the terrifying scenario taking place inside.
Inside the home, rescuers from the Eichenhof Animal Shelter discovered more than 50 dogs, plus five guinea pigs and two rabbits, all in desperate need of medical care. [post_ads]The animals were in the most extreme states of neglect, with matted, dirty and urine-covered fur on top of their various health problems.
“You may have heard of the confiscation of well over 50 animals (dogs and small animals) on [Jan. 11],” Eichenhof Animal Shelter posted on Facebook following the rescue mission.
“It was very sad to see what [state] the animals were in. …Especially Stanley, a little, young Yorkshire (I hope I got the breed properly, otherwise correct me) had touched me very much. Stanley was standing up in his…urine…[and] [post_ads_2]The excrement had already eaten into the skin, so he had to have [been in] pain.”
In an appeal on Facebook, rescuers also asked for donations for the extremely high medical bills the animals incurred, as well as shampoo, food, and services for the mistreated animals.
